Hoshi's eyes widened and she held up her paws in a mock expression of resignment. "Fine, fine, I'll do what you say, Mr. Grouchybutt." The snow-colored Koga walked over to a nearby willow tree and grabbed a long branch, ripping it off with ease. She walked back to where Samoth was bent over. "Prepare yourself," she growled, then struck him across the back with the branch.

and he bit his teath together, as he felt the stings go throught his back, it burnt suprisingly hot on his back, and he felt where the branch had whiped his back, he felt the welt, and it was burning, but he utterd not a word.

Hoshi continued the whipping for another minute. Her thoughts were detached from her body, and all her pent-up rage was escaping now, driving the whip harder and deeper. Eventually her common sense came back to her and her rage was quelled. When she dropped the branch, her breath came in ragged pants and her legs were shaking. "I-I gotta get something to drink," she said, turning and running back toward the river.

but Samoth was in pain, he was bleading from the deep welts, but it was his own sake, so now he was punished, so now he could go on whit his life, and he padded over too the river, and laid his body in there, too wash all the bloood away," thanks my dear, that was what i neaded, so now i can live on whit my duty, shall we get going".

By the time Samoth showed up, Hoshi had regained control over her emotions. She took a few last sips of the water before turning to her elder. "I'm ready," she said, determination clear in her set jaw, though she couldn't help but cringe when she saw how much Samoth was bleeding.

"hm i see i must stay in this water for a while, so the wounds get probaly washed", he said, and they did burn, but he dident kringe at all, he was used too pain, and laid his head on the shore, and saw the water be more red around him," hm i see you have given me deep welts too, or i wuldent bleed so much, my dear please forgive me, that i am so useless, but these wounds must be washed propably, or they could get infected, and that would not be good".

"No, I understand," Hoshi said, sitting down on the shore. She watched as the water around Samoth turned darker, and the darkness spread across the river. "Damn, that's a lot of blood. Sorry."

"hehehehe its ok, this old fool can take much, but a whole minute of whiping, it was meybe too much", he said and laughted, until the stings on his back shoot him upp, and he looked at her whit mirth in his eyes," dont be sad dear, you did give me a good lesson, and now that black fool upp there can shoot up too", he said, and looked after black wing," happy now father hm".

Hoshi's ears, which had been partly lowered to shame, suddenly perked back up. "What black fool?" she asked curiously. This was the second time that he had referred to such a creature and Hoshi wanted to know more.

"come down here father, and dont hide in the trees," and so Black wing came down, and stood by Samoths head, he crowed, and said whit a rasping voice," hm that will learn you too respect your leaders, so this is your punisher, when the leaders where too affraid too touch you hm, he is one of the best figters, and he was the general in Kamuis father elite troop of special troops, but look at him now, what a waste, he must be brought back too his former self, then he was as ruthless and soulless as a bloodthisty bear, just hungering for more blood, he has killed thousands of dogs, but one thing always will nag his souls, it was when his group went amok, and killed all the puppies in a whole village, and he slaughted his own men, and went too exile for menny years, and he hasent forgiven himself yeath".

Hoshi nearly jumped in surprise as the crow lighted onto Samoth's shoulder and began talking. This is his FATHER? she thought to herself, racking her brain to figure out how that was physically possible. As he told Samoth's story, she felt herself shiver: this dog before her was capable of cold blooded murder. She was now seeing him in a different light. "Why did you do it?" she asked simply.

Hoshi lowered her head in silent mourning for the pups that died that day. "I'm sorry," she said quietly, "that must have been really hard on you." She shivered again as she pictured the broken bodies of the Iga pups. If she had stayed with her mother's clan, could that have been her?

"nobody, even an enemy dosent deserve too have their puppies killed, their children had a bright future before them, they culdent even fight, so i did go in exile, and i was a broken dog for years, and their life less eyes staring upp too the skies, still hunts me too this day, so you see i killed my troops in cold blood, and in rage, becurse they did take the puppies future away from them, they hadent done anything".

Hoshi, normally snarky and quick to respond, was at a loss for words. For a few more moments she dwelled on the fate of the pups, until she couldn't stand it any more. She got to her paws and looked out across the river. "We should probably get going right now, the night's not gonna last forever, you know," she reminded him.
